What is Dernilan® cream and why it is used

Thanks to combined effects of its components: allantoin, nicotinamide, salicylic acid and camphor the drug of Dernilan® cream has anti-inflammatory and wound healing influence on skin lesions. It facilitates removal of thickened and keratinized epidermis of feet and hands.
The preparation is used in case of painful and deep cracks and keratinized epidermis as well as for care of hands and feet skin.

Before you apply Dernilan® cream

Do not apply Dernilan® cream

  • In case of hypersensitivity (allergy) to the preparation components
  • To vast areas of damaged skin and onto mucosa.

Application of Dernilan® cream in children

It is not recommended to apply in children younger than 12 years of age.

Pregnancy and breast feeding

It is necessary to consult a physician before application of the drug.
It is not recommended to apply in pregnant and breast feeding women.

Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms

The drug of Dernilan® cream has no influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms.

Important information of some components of Dernilan® cream

The drug contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate and for this reason may cause allergic reactions (possible late type reactions).
Because of stearyl alcohol content, the drug may cause local dermal reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Use of other drugs

No data concerning possible interactions of allantoin, nicotinamide and camphor applied locally to skin.
Salicylic acid contained by the cream may intensify therapeutic effects of other non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs.

How to apply Dernilan® cream

Rub the skin of hands and feet with cream 3 to 4 times a day.
Massage the cream gently in, soak feet or hands every few days and remove hard epidermis. After healing of lesions, apply the cream 1 to 2 times a day following washing of hands and feet.

Possible undesired effects

As every drug, Dernilan® cream may cause undesired effects. Allergic reactions and local irritations may appear in the individuals allergic to the preparation components. If these intensify or any other undesired effects, not mentioned here, occur it is necessary to inform a physician or a pharmacist.

Storage of Dernilan® cream

Store at the temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Store out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.

 

Dernilan® ointment

(0.3% + 0.25% + 0.1% + 1.0%) ointment

100 g of the ointment contain:

  • Active substances:
    Allantoin (Allantoinum) 300 mg
    Nicotinamide (Nicotinamidum) 250 mg
    Salicylic acid (Acidum salicylicum) 100 mg
    Racemic camphor (Camphora racemica) 1 g
  • Auxiliary substances:
    white paraffin jelly, glycerol, purified water, cetyl alcohol, cholesterol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate.

What is Dernilan® ointment and why it is used
