
Composition of 100 g of the medical product:
- Complex extract (ethanol 60% v/v, 1:2) from: yellow everlasting (Helichrysi inflorescentia),
- chamomile basket (Chamomillae anthodium), coriander fruit (Coriandri fructus),
- black elder fruit (Sambuci fructus), (24 :15.5 : 7.5 : 3 ) - 89 g
- Extract of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), (ethanol 96% v/v, 1:1) - 11 g
Cholesol® contains 58% (v/v) of ethanol on the average.
Packaging: 100 g of fluid.
What is Cholesol® and why it is used
- Oral fluid of Cholesol® is used in treatment of indigestion symptoms and as a cholepoietic agent.
- Cholesol® is intended for traditional application in case of the above mentioned indications and its efficiency is based exclusively on long period of application and experience.
Before you apply Cholesol®
Do not apply the drug in case of:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the preparation components, including chamomile flowers, plants of Asteraceae ( Compositae) family
- Occlusion of bile ducts
In case of individuals with diagnosed cholelithiasis, the preparation can be applied only after consultation with a physician.
Observe special care while applying the drug, because it contains 58 % v/v of ethanol on the average. 1 tea spoon of the preparation (5 ml) contains about 2.5 g of ethanol.
Because of its ethanol content, the drug may be harmful in case of liver damage, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain damage and mental diseases.
Application of Cholesol® in children
Do not administer to children younger than 14 years of age because of ethanol content.
Application of the drug during pregnancy and breast feeding
Because of insufficient pharmacological studies and high content of ethanol in the drug, it is not to be applied during pregnancy and breast feeding.
Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
A tea spoon of the drug (5 ml) contains about 2.5 g of ethanol. Application of the product impairs the ability to drive vehicles, operate moving mechanisms and general psychomotor competence. The alcohol contained by the drug may be detected by devices analyzing exhaled air (sobriety tester - alcomat).
Use of other drugs
It is necessary to inform a physician about all the recently taken drugs, even those sold without prescription.
How to apply Cholesol®
Apply orally.
Adults: 1 tea spoon (5 ml) in ½ of the glass of water up to 3 times a day.
Youths from 14 up to 18 years of age: ½ tea spoon (5 ml) in ½ of the glass of water up to 3 times a day.
Do not administer to children younger than 14 years of age because of ethanol content.
In case of taking higher than indicated dose of the drug
No drug overdose symptoms are known.
Possible undesired effects
As every drug, Cholesol® may cause undesired effects. In case of undesired effects, inform your physician about them.
Storage of Cholesol®
Store at the temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Store out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.
