Extractum compositum siccum ex Salicis cortice - 3 parts, Solidaginis herba - 1 part (4-6:1) - 9.093 g [Extractant: ethanol 40 % (v/v)] - Auxiliary substances:
Ethanol 40% (v/v), sorbitol 70%, vanillin
Product strength: 9.0-11.0 mg of phenolic glycosides converted into salicin/g.
The product contains 26.0-33.0 % (v/v) of ethanol.
Packaging contains 125 g of the product.
What is REUMACOR® and why it is used
The drug of Reumacor® contains willow bark and goldenrod herb extracts.
Willow bark extract demonstrates anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects because of its salicylate content.
Flavonoid compounds contained by goldenrod herb act mildly diuretically, which is beneficial in case of rheumatic diseases.
Indications for application
Reumacor® is applied in case of mild rheumatic pains, headaches and as an auxiliary agent in febrile illnesses.
Before you apply REUMACOR®
Do not use Reumacor®:
- in case of confirmed hypersensitivity to salicylates (asthma, bronchospasm, rhinitis, urticaria)
- in patients with hypersensitivity to other drugs of non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs
- in case of asthma, because of the possibility of spasmodic narrowing of bronchi.
Observe special care while applying the drug of Reumacor®
In case of serious liver or kidney diseases, blood coagulability disorders as well as chronic gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, Reumacor® should be applied under physician's control. In case of fever lasting over 3 days in spite of treatment or exceeding 39°C, it is necessary to consult a physician.
Observe special care when edema, erythema and limited mobility of joints are present during application of Reumacor®. If pain and other symptoms do not withdraw or intensify during the first week of treatment, it is necessary to consult a physician.
Important information concerning some components of the drug of Reumacor®
The drug contains sorbitol. Patients with diagnosed intolerance of certain sugars should consult a physician before taking the drug.
The drug contains 30 % v/v of ethanol (alcohol) on the average, which corresponds to 945 mg of ethanol in a single dose (in 3 ml). It is not recommended to apply to individuals with alcoholism and in patients with liver diseases or epilepsy.
Pregnancy
Consult a physician before application of the drug.
No controlled clinical trials have been conducted in pregnant women, and for this reason it is not recommended to apply the preparation during this period.
Breast feeding
Consult a physician before application of the drug.
No controlled clinical trials have been conducted in breast feeding women, and for this reason it is not recommended to apply the preparation during this period.
Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
Because of its ethanol content, Reumacor® may influence the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms.
Use of other drugs
Reumacor® may intensify effects of anti-coagulants (heparin and coumarin derivatives).
How to apply REUMACOR®
Adults, orally: 1 tea spoon (3 ml) 4 to 5 times a day.
The drug should be taken after meal and washed down with an ample amount of liquid.
Maximal daily dose is 240 mg of phenolic glycosides converted into salicin, which corresponds to 24 ml of the preparation (8 tea spoons).
In case of taking higher than recommended dose of Reumacor®
No cases of overdose have been described.
In case of skipping the dose of the drug
Do not apply a double dose in order to supplement the omitted one.
Possible undesired effects
Undesired effects may occur in the form of allergic reactions, such as rash, pruritus, urticaria, asthma and gastro-intestinal disorders, such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach ache, and diarrhea. Frequency of these symptoms is not known.
In case of undesired symptoms occurrence, it is necessary to consult a physician.
Storage of REUMACOR®
Store at the temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Store out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.
